Private Pilot Certificate

Brief Description

A license that permits the holder to act as the pilot in command (PIC) of an aircraft during visual day and night conditions.


The student will obtain the knowledge, skill, and aeronautical experience necessary to meet the requirements for a private pilot certification with an airplane category rating and a single-engine land class rating. Our private pilot curriculum prepares students to be safe and competent aviators, laying the foundation for those seeking a professional career as a pilot.

Basic Requirements

  • Be at least 17 years of age.
  • Be able to read, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Obtain at least a current third-class medical certificate.
  • Pass a knowledge test as well as the practical test, which consists of an oral and flight skills exam conducted by an FAA-designated examiner.
