Multi-Engine Instructor (MEI)

Brief Description

Adding on a Multi-Engine Rating to your Flight Instructor Certificate will allow you to teach in a larger variety of aircraft and provide training that allows you to teach instrument flight rules and multi-engine to students.

Basic Requirements

  • Must have your multi-engine commercial license.
  • Must have 15 hours of pilot in command time (PIC).
  • Take ground training to prepare you for the FAA’s MEI practical test.
  • Pass a practical test.
